We have to admit when we first heard about this wine we were a little skeptical. Made using the combination of 2 different Italian winemaking techniques, one of which involves infusing the wine with herbs but we read some rave reviews before we tasted it and then we tried it and oh my goodness, we were in heaven!
Probably the most luscious dessert wine we have ever tried with notes of winter flowers, Madagascar vanilla bean, chocolate and coffee. It has a honeyed like texture and a lovely sweetness accompanied by a long finish.
It isn’t easy to find a wine that works with the richest of chocolate but here we have it. A perfect match to any chocolate based dessert, including coffee, vanilla and dark cherries such as tiramisu, black forest gateau or chocolate fondant.
We think every house should have a bottle of this in for dessert on Christmas day or for dinner parties to wow your guests. Alternatively pour some on vanilla ice cream like they do with Pedro Ximenez.
