We love getting a regional Australian wine for under £10 and moving away from the “South Eastern Australia” blends and this Chardonnay never fails to impress, even for those customers who wouldn’t normally opt for a Chardonnay. This is very different to the creamy, oaky Chardonnays that Australia is famous for, this is crisp and fresh and shows another side to this grape variety.
Bright sunny days and cool nights allow for exceptional flavour development with no oak or malolactic fermentation this is clean, fresh and crisp. Citrus and white peach flavours combine with a zesty refreshing acidity and a bright minerality. The addition of some grapes from the ultra premium Langhorne Creek adds palate, weight and texture and this particular Chardonnay clone has a distinctive tangerine peel character.
Extremely food friendly, try with tempura fried vegetables, aromatic chicken salads or crispy Chinese pork.
