Toro de Piedra Carmenere – Cabernet Sauvignon, Curico Valley, Chile 2017

Curico Valley, with it’s mild Mediterranean climate and varied soils has become a hub of quality wine production in Chile with long, dry summers helping grapes attain their maximum potential for colour, aroma and flavour. Producer Vina Requingua set up here in 1961 and their experience is certainly paying off, winning accolade after accolade including a International Wine and Spirit Challenge Silver for this stunner.

Complex and serious, the nose shows dark fruit and a mixture of spice and leather. Firm tannins support flavours of bitter chocolate, roasting coffee and intense blackberry and black plum fruit.
